![]() ![]() McLean’s family has expressed hope that McLean is convicted and sentenced to life in custody. A Manitoba review board will determine his medical treatment is sufficient for him to be returned to the community and his case will be reviewed yearly, with no minimum amount of time that he must spend in the hospital before he can be released. Should Li be found to be not criminally responsible by reason of mental disorder, he will spend time in a treatment facility instead of a prison. Jonathan Rootenberg, stated, “He has a major mental illness that…rendered him unable to know what he was doing was wrong.” Both psychiatrists agree that with proper treatment, Li may one day be rehabilitated and returned to society. He is as much a victim of this horrendous illness … as Mr. He is, as I’ve come to know him, a decent person. Li was an anti-social psychopath with a history of malicious behaviour, but he isn’t that. Stanley Yaren, believes that Li is still psychotic, having hallucinations, hearing voices and believing that God will kill him, despite the strong anti-psychotic medication he is now taking. The psychiatrists also believed that Li thought that McLean had supernatural powers and the ability to come back to life, so he continued to mutilate the body and scatter it around the bus in white garbage bags. They testified that Li believed that he was instructed by God to kill McLean, fearing for his life should he not carry out these “orders.” Psychiatrists for the Crown and the Defense both agree that Li was suffering from schizophrenia and did not know what he was doing when he killed McLean. Although those close to him encouraged Li to seek medical treatment, he refused.Īt the second-degree murder trial, there was an agreed statement of facts and both the Crown and the Defense seek the same verdict, that Li be found not criminally responsible by reason of mental disorder. He was known to take long bus trips and miss work with no explanation. Li, who came to Canada from China in 2001, had a history of mental problems, but was not known to be violent. Please kill me.” McLean’s body parts were found scattered around the bus, as well as in Li’s pockets. While the driver and approximately 30 other passengers frantically fled the bus, Li proceeded to behead the man and remove his internal organs, as well as smell and eat his body parts.Īfter being locked on the bus by the other passengers, police arrived and eventually apprehended Li, who admitted that he had killed McLean and stated, “I’m guilty. At around 8:30 p.m., he violently attacked McLean, who was sleeping at the time, stabbing him between 50 or 60 times. On July 30, 2008, Li sat beside 22 year-old Tim McLean, on a Greyhound bus trip near Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. The trial ended yesterday with both the Crown and the Defense seeking that the accused, Vince Li, be found not criminally responsible by reason of mental disorder. The verdict in the horrific Greyhound bus slaying case is expected today. ![]() ![]() ![]() Gathers Electro energy to unleash a lightning storm over a small AoE, causing massive Electro DMG, and clears all of Razor’s Electro Sigils. ![]() ![]() That changed in 1979, when the editor of the publishing giant Music Sales decided that an inexperienced, 23-year-old freelance piano player was just the guy to unlock this extraordinary virtuoso’s kitchen secrets for all the world to sightread. While several Evans books were on the market at that time, few (if any) complete and accurate Tatum solos could be found in sheet music format. He graciously accepted it, gave me his contact information, and that was that. After the last amazing set, I gingerly handed Evans my transcription. He was on fire, playing with passion and overt virtuosity, galvanized by Philly Joe Jones’ aggressive drumming. Nearly a year, two broken tape decks, at least seven worn out cassettes and umpteen revisions later, I made my way down the steps to the Village Vanguard’s legendary basement to hear Evans. In any event, I was struggling to learn “Rainy Day” by ear, and realized that I’d gain better accuracy if I simply bit the bullet and laboriously wrote down what I heard, bar by bar, note by note. Perhaps it’s the fluid, organic fusion of classical and jazz elements that grabbed me. To my mind, Evans’ subtle voice leading, rhythmic displacements and skillful keyboard textures tilt more toward Schumann and Brahms. ![]() I particularly loved Evans’ unaccompanied solo recording of the Johnny Burke/Jimmy van Heusen standard “Here’s That Rainy Day.” Many critics see a link between Evans’ influential harmonic language and the French Impressionists. I only wish I had these toys some three decades ago during my own student years, when I practiced classical by day, played jazz gigs at night, and listened endlessly to records by Art Tatum and Bill Evans, two of the most influential and revered jazz pianists of their time and beyond. Apparently the music could also notate itself, albeit with unpredictable results. One clever pianist accomplished his assignment with help from a computer program that could alter tempos without changing the music’s pitch. One recent spring I visited my old clarinetist friend David Krakauer’s improvisation class at the Manhattan School of Music to observe his students analyze and perform improvised solos they had transcribed from recordings. However, this error is unnoticable until many years of inflation have passed and should therefore be of little concern.ġ.0 In OpenTTD rounding happens towards 1 or -1 depending on the old base cost i.e. Modifying the base costs incurs a small rounding error every time the game is saved, because the costs have to be set back to the default in the savegame. Using math: NewBaseCost = OldBaseCost * 2^(n-8), where n is the value of property 08. Adding one to the property doubles the base cost, subtracting one halves it.
